You can see that these are 4 coins, apparently the 4th edition of the Milky Way was not originally planned. These are domed coins. According to Royal Australian Mint Chief Executive Officer Ross MacDiarmid, the convex shape of the Earth and Beyond coins adds depth and accuracy to the design. The Earth and Beyond series marks the first time that the Royal Australian Mint has applied color to the convex surface of a coin. The obverse of the coin was struck from one ounce of fine silver and features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, created by Ian Rank-Broadley, surrounded by the planets of our solar system.
