In 2010 a new series of German gold coins started. The coins have a face value of 20 euros and a weight of 1/8 oz of fine gold. The theme of the series is the German Forest with 6 motifs in 6 years:

- Chestnut (2014)
- Linden (2015)

The mintage per coin is 200,000 and therefore 40,000 per mint. The first edition included a wooden collector's case for all 6 coins. This is not included in the purchase. All editions come encapsulated with a certificate, without a case.
