ECHIDNA, Bush Babies Series 0.5 oz Silver Proof, 2011

Among the collectible coins with half an ounce of fine silver, the “Bush Babies” from Australia are among the most popular. That's why the series with the cute colored offspring from the fauna went into the second round. Issue one, the Kookaburra, is just as cute as the other babies in the second series. The silver coins, which contain 1/2 oz of fine silver with a purity of 999/1000, each have a diameter of 36.6 millimeters and a maximum thickness of 2.3 millimeters. They are minted to the highest proof quality and feature bright color applications for which the Australian mint Perth Mint is known. This creates very lively motifs of typically Australian animals - in addition to the kookaburra, which is known from numerous collector and investment coins, the choice fell on real exotic animals such as the platypus, wombat and echidna: the echidna and wombat are marsupials, the platypus is known as an egg-laying mammal.
